Top 3 Smartphones To Watch Out For This February: LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8 And Huawei P10

With gadget buffs waiting for the release of new Android-powered smartphones, February will be an exciting month as major OEMs are gearing up to unleash new devices.

Several speculations and rumors pertaining to the release of top-end smartphones from Samsung, LG and Huawei are swirling online.

Here's a look at some smartphone announcements consumers can look forward to next month.


Samsung Galaxy S8

Based on rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S8, codenamed Dream, will likely have a curved 4K display and may come in two screen sizes - 5.7 inches and 6.2 inches. It is speculated that the 6.2-inch variant would be the Galaxy S8 Plus which will look to catch the attention of those who bought the Galaxy Note 7.

The latest Snapdragon 835 processor may power the U.S. variant of the smartphone. Among many other rumored improvements to the phablet is the AI assistant Bixby, as well as force touch support. Rumors are rife that device's display would be embedded with  anoptical fingerprint scanner.

The Galaxy S7's successor is expected to come with Android N out of the box.

The Galaxy S8 is expected debut at the MWC 2017 in February. The company has a press event scheduled for Feb. 27. The smartphone is expected to hit the shelves in April.

LG G6

The LG G6 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch 4k and like the Samsung smartphone could house the latest Snapdragon 835 processor. The LG G6 - the successor of the LG G5 - is rumored to pack in 6 GB of RAM.

The LG G6 is also expected to be discard the modular design of the LG G5. The smartphone may also get an iris scanner. The flagship may come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box

LG is reportedly going to announce the smartphone in end February, before Samsung's announcement. The handset may be releasedon March 10 in home country South Korea with other countries following suit.

Huawei P10

Huawei is also poised to unleash new smartphones at the MWC 2017 and has an event slated for Feb. 26.

The company has sent out press invites and reports hint at the OEM outing a "flagship device" believed to be the Huawei P10 smartphone. The phablet will have a 5.2 inch QHD display and a resolution of 2540 x 1440 pixels.

The P10 is expected to house an octa-core Kirin 960 processor which is believed to deliver a much better performance than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The smartphone will reportedly have 6 GB of RAM and come in a 256 GB storage option.

The P10 could possibly sport a 16MP rear-facing camera. The Huawei P10 will likely come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

With February round the corner, smartphone fans can look forward to a slew of Android handsets being unveiled
